In most of the new Member States one of the applicants was an NG(D)O platform/network, e.g.: Czech Republic: FoRS, Hungary: HAND, Poland: NEWW, Latvia: LAPAS, Estonia: Estonian Roundtable on Development Cooperation (AKÜ), Slovenia: Sloga, Malta: SKOP,  Romania: FOND.

While the majority of these platforms and some of the applicant NGDOs worked towards promoting development cooperation in general and strengthening national platforms, others focused on highlighting specific issues such as policy coherence or the inclusion of gender at national and EU level or the promotion of Fair Trade.
